What is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full Spectrum CBD is a form of CBD that, unlike CBD Isolate or synthetic cannabinoids, also contains a variety of the other phytocannabinoids that are naturally found in the cannabis plant. Full spectrum CBD contains CBC (Cannabichromene), CBN (Cannabinol), THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid) and CBG (Cannabigerol), to name a few. Many of these phytocannabinoids interact with one another to create what scientists call the “Entourage Effect” which magnifies the therapeutic benefits of the individual phytocannabinoids.
What are phytocannabinoids?
Phytocannabinoids are any cannabinoids that are naturally occurring within the cannabis plant. Each of our bodies has an ECS (Endocannabinoid System) which allows our bodies to absorb and utilize phytocannabinoids and each phytocannabionoid interacts with our ECS differently.

CBD or Cannabidol:
CBD has more medical benefits than of all of the other phytocannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Some of the better known health benefits of CBD are that it relieves pain, and is used to treat anxiety and depression. CBD has been known to have antibacterial properties, to inhibit cancer cell growth and to promote bone growth. It has also been found to reduce seizures and convulsions, to reduce blood sugar levels, to treat psoriasis and to be neuro-protective.
CBC or Cannnabichromene
CBC is the most frequently found cannabinoid in the cannabis plant and works with our NSPCs (neural stem progenitor cells) by increasing their ability to recover and supporting their ability to self-renew. CBC has been known as an antidepressant, can be used to relieve anxiety and can be used to relieve pain. CBC also inhibits cancer cell growth, promotes bone growth and has anti-inflammatory benefits.
CBCA or Cannabichrometic Acid
Even though CBCA was once thought to have no medical benefits, it has been found to have anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory benefits. When CBCA is heated or aged it produces CBC, CBL and CBLA.
CBCV or Cannabichromevarin
CBCV is currently being studied to verify its anticonvulsant benefits. CBCV has been found to have pain relief and antidepressant benefits.
CBDA or Cannabidolic Acid
CBDA can be considered as the parent of CBD because once the cannabis plant has been harvested, the CBDA begins to break down into CBD. CBCA is non-psychoactive and, although it was once thought to be medically neutral, has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and has anti-inflammatory benefits as well.
CBDV or Cannabidivarin
CBDV is primarily known for its ability to reduce seizures and convulsions but recent studies have shown that it also has the ability to relieve nausea.
CBG or Cannabigerol
CBG, also known as the “stem cell” cannabinoid because of its roll in producing other cannabinoids has many medical benefits, most importantly; it’s ability to inhibit cancer cell growth. It also aids with sleep, promotes bone growth and also slows bacterial growth.
CBGA or Cannabigerolic Acid
As a form of CBG, CBGA can also be viewed as a “stem cell” cannabinoid. Through photosynthesis, CBGA becomes THCA, CBDA and CBCA within the raw cannabis plant. It is primarily known for its pain relief and anti-inflammatory properties and is also known to slow bacterial growth.
CBN or Cannabinol
Two of the most well known benefits of CBN are its ability to generate powerful sedative effects and its ability to increase your appetite. It has also been found to have antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and anticonvulsant properties. CBN relieves pain, inhibits cancer cell growth, promotes bone growth and can be used as a form of glaucoma therapy.
Δ9-THCA or Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid
Preliminary research is showing that Δ9-THCA is effective in treating insomnia, relieving pain, and reducing nausea. Δ9-THCA also has anti-inflammatory properties and is known to reduce seizures and convulsions.
THCV or Tetrahydrocannabivarin
THCV is known to suppress your appetite, reduce anxiety and regulate blood sugar. It is also known to improve motor control, promote bone growth and is an anti-oxidant.
